Replacement:KIT-12729. The Sparkle Diamond Kit has a new rev with a new way to hold your coin cell battery and a new Sparkle board, go check it out! This page is for reference only.
Sparkle is Aniomagic's avant-garde way to make interactive textiles, paper, ceramics, and environments. They've made it so easy to implement that anyone can create interactive works of art. Program it directly from a web browser by holding it in front of a computer screen or phone. Connect it with conductive thread, conductive paint, or regular wire. The only limit is your imagination.
The Sparkle kit includes everything you need to add programmable flashing sequences of LEDs to your project. Simply sew the Sparkle board to your project and attach the included coin cell battery holder, sew your Lightboards in place with conductive thread and you're ready to program it. Alternate the LED directions (+ side up or down) so each turns on at different times and program the board using Aniomagic's online sequencer.
Whether it's for assembling a kit, hacking an enclosure, or creating your own parts; the DIY skill is all about knowing how to use tools and the techniques associated with them.
Skill Level: Noob - Basic assembly is required. You may need to provide your own basic tools like a screwdriver, hammer or scissors. Power tools or custom parts are not required. Instructions will be included and easy to follow. Sewing may be required, but only with included patterns.

If a board needs code or communicates somehow, you're going to need to know how to program or interface with it. The programming skill is all about communication and code.
Skill Level: Noob - Programming will be limited to basic drag and drop interfaces like ModKit or Scratch. You won't be writing code, but you will still need to understand some basics of interfacing with hardware. If you?re just using a sensor, it's output is analog.

If it requires power, you need to know how much, what all the pins do, and how to hook it up. You may need to reference datasheets, schematics, and know the ins and outs of electronics.
Skill Level: Rookie - You may be required to know a bit more about the component, such as orientation, or how to hook it up, in addition to power requirements. You will need to understand polarized components.

It might be worth mentioning the "Diamond" White LED Lightboards included in this kit are different from the Diamond Lightboards (http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10837) that are sold separately.
As stated under the Aniomagic's site, you can use up to 20 LEDs in any color combination.
Amazing! I have only one question, what should do I do if I want to wash it, should I do remove the battery?
Worse than short now... "Video has been removed by user"
Oh man, I might have to order one of these just to see if I can reverse-engineer that nifty "program it from the website" thing. It looks like it's all done client-side and they haven't obfuscated their Javascript code, so it shouldn't be too difficult.
We apologize for the video being cut a few seconds short, our talented videographer is out of town but he'll no-doubt have this fixed within minutes of his return.
You may want to fix the embedded video on the product page. It appears to have been removed.
