SparkFun will be closed on Tuesday, December 24th, and Wednesday, December 25th, in observance of the Christmas holiday. Any orders qualifying for same day shipping placed after 2:00 p.m. (MST) on Monday, December 23rd, will be processed on Thursday, December 26th, when we return to regular business hours. Wishing you a safe and happy holiday from all of us at SparkFun!
Please note - we will not be available for Local Pick up orders from December 24th-December 27th. If you place an order for Local Pick-Up we will have those ready on Monday, December 30th.
The class begins with an introduction to all the required components, serial terminals, AT commands and the basics of mesh networking. The first project will be a Basic Chat session that demonstrates how to configure and connect coordinator and router ZigBee Series 1 radios together. We will also cover pin to pin data transfer using XBee Series 1 radios. Then after lunch we will do the same with XBee series 2 followed by a discussion on the different uses of the two XBee types. Finally we'll develop a full Processing-based wireless simple sensor network using ZigBee radio connections to collect three data values from numerous remotely-placed sensors.
Concepts covered in this class: During this class we will talk about radio protocols, PAN IDs, AT mode, briefly cover API mode, I/O features, hexadecimals, ZigBee network topologies and data while having plenty of fun.

We are going to offering all of our class documents for free once our learn.sparkfun.com website is up. That way you can just order the parts for the class and get the documents for free. Maybe you would even want to lead our own class at a Hacker Space? =)
Can this be purchased with a written version of the class or a downloadable video after it ends? I know you are not ready to do a live webinar so I thought this could be a great start. It is a really interesting topic. I would love to be able to take advantage of your classes from the east coast.

We're working on online classes.
Cancellation/refund policy is currently on a case by case basis since our Department of Education is so young.
LC, your cancellation policy is not on a case-by-case basis. Why not just be truthful?
Solarbees, it used to be on a case by case basis a month ago when I posted this comment. As of recently our refund policy is now posted on all class listings. Unfortunately we cannot make any exceptions because our time and energy is already stretched fairly thin. I apologize for any miscommunication this may have caused.
You guys need to start making online classes! I would definitely pay for that! If i was in CO i would attend but in NY about to get hit by a hurricane :(
Online classes would ROCK!
Really what we need to do is time the classes with hurricanes, then when the hurricane comes you have a good reason to head out of town.
Yes!
I am with Jason... I would love to take online SparkFun classes.
As am I!
What is the cancelation/refund policy?
