This is a fairly large, 80x80x15mm fan. The fan has a DC brushless motor, with an operating voltage of 12V, and is rated at 180mA. Keeping the temperature down in your project can often be a necessity, and this fan can definitely help.
If it requires power, you need to know how much, what all the pins do, and how to hook it up. You may need to reference datasheets, schematics, and know the ins and outs of electronics.
Skill Level: Rookie - You may be required to know a bit more about the component, such as orientation, or how to hook it up, in addition to power requirements. You will need to understand polarized components.

What is the cfm
strap on a 9V and have some gyro fun :)
Is this fan quiet? I've found that the 3 or 4 wire pwm speed controlled fans I've tried would not slow down to an acceptable speed vs sound. I would like a few silent/discrete fans that can really move some air without waking the dead...
Looks like it's high speed, so it'll be loud. But who really knows since the datasheet doesn't match and the picture shows a 180 mA fan, not 240 mA. You might be able to run it at 5V, where it would be pretty quiet. Or just get a decent fan from Newegg.
ok just wondering thanks for the reply
