As a reference material it's been really well organized and fact-checked by expert advisers. Not only is the information accurate and detailed but it's easy to find. This is a great book to keep on your workbench!

This book has been a great resource for "tribal knowledge" about the components I don't, or haven't used often. Volume 2 coming out soon; can't wait.
Interesting book. I like how it explains how components work. I think that there is a sequal. BTW check out Charles platts "make electronics". It's a great book for getting you into electronics, and I've learned a lot from it.
Volume 2 is FINALLY out! Delayed more than a year. So get on that, Sparkfun!
This book fills a niche, at least for me. It has clear, concise descriptions of components that you can't get anywhere else. Datasheets are way too detailed and don't provide the "common knowledge" that exists about items. It more closely resembles a wiki entry, but spells out how to use an item as opposed to just basic facts like Wikipedia does. It doesn't try to be all inclusive and focuses mainly on hobby uses.
