Do you need to remove the oxidation and surface contamination from your soldering iron tip? The Solder Tip Polishing Bar allows you to do just that! This bar provides a great way to bring your older or neglected soldering tips back from the dead. Just make sure the tip is cold, give it a good scrubbing with this bar, and you're all set! It is important to immediately tin the just-polished tip to avoid oxidation.
Note: Only use this polishing bar when the soldering tip is cool. Do NOT use the bar while the tip is hot!

Does just what it's supposed to do. The directions that come with it indicate you can use it hot. I've done both - just have to be really careful to avoid the hot tip if you do it that way, but it has the advantage of being able to tin the tip immediately.
