There are two problems with this board. The first is in the chip in which it's based -- it's designed for failure alarms, and it cannot be set to switch at any temperature between 5C and 45C. That's fine if you want to know when your refrigerator has failed, but not if you want to keep a room comfortable.
The second is in the board design. The chip is designed to low-power -- 30 uA, so it can run on a long time on a coin cell. But the configuration switches are designed so that, to pull a config pin low, you have a 100K pullup running straight from v+ to ground. If it's running on a 3V coin cell, each such pullup means another 30uA. 1, 2, or 3 pins low means a 100%, 200%, or 300% increase in supply current. And it's completely unnecessary -- the board could have been designed so the pullups could be disengaged when the pin is pulled low.
It would have been nice (and easy), since you have the p channel FET to drive the LED, to bring out an active high alarm signal to a pad.
