Does the quarter come with this?
Just for anyone else who had some trouble seeing this, there are actually 2 sets of 15 pins, easy to solder to also.
Thanks, Matt. This is the first thing I wondered from the picture.
The shell for the Style 1 connector has snap-latches on each corner (at least they are shown in the picture and existed on the connector/shell that I bought 3 years ago). The shell supplied with the current style 2 connector has tiny pins in each corner. There appears to be no way to latch the two halves of the shell together and maintain a way to take them apart. I could use glue, but that would be permanent. Am I missing something?

Is this iPad 3 / iPad 4 compatible? I also have an iPhone 3GS (please dont laugh). I want to make a solar project and need a breakout connector like this.
I wonder if I can mod one of these iPod connectors to work with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2
I have busted connector on my iPod Classic 30GB 5th Gen. Not sure if the iPod Connector Male Style 2 or iPod Connector Male Style 1 is the best fit.
Need help determining the correct one.
Thanks Aquib
Just got this connector and I cannot determine what the pin layout is. This link above, http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/iPod/iPod%20Datasheet%20Style2.pdf, doesn't make it clear which pin is pin 1.
And this link, http://pinouts.ru/CellularPhones-A-N/iPhone_connector_pinout.shtml, indicates that pin numbering is "inversed."
Would some kind soul please point out the numbering on the pins so I know which to solder to? :-)
Thanks!
