PICAXE 18 Pin Power Project Board

Replacement: None. There is no direct replacement for this board. It was a slow seller and we have since retired it. This page is for reference only.

This is a high power development board enabling 4 FET buffered outputs and a connection to an h-bridge driver (L293D). The L293D allows forward/reverse control on a motor and the FET outputs are perfect for high-current actuators and lamps. A very simple, but elegant power board. The board is configured for use with the PICAXE-18M2 chip. In order to use this board with older 18-pin PICAXE chips, an extra 1k resistor must be soldered to the board in the 'RST' resistor position.

Board comes fully assembled as shown. Purchase the controller and L293D driver below.

The drilled holes are a little larger than standard wire gauges, but all the holes are through-plated for longevity. All the outputs and inputs are present and 4 outputs are taken through to a L293D 1A motor driver IC. This makes the board ideal for robotic projects.

I just bought 2 of these and I'm not a happy camper. The datasheet and picture displayed is not what you are going to get.
    1. no reset switch or pull up resistor
    2. resonator has been removed
    3. DataSheet on this page explains how to mod the board for other pic devices
    4. New datasheet only talk about PixAxe
They have add 2 nice items; a place for a 78L05 regulator (not supplied) and they have brought out +V,G,B0-B7 test points.
The bottom line for me is just to cut and jumper the resonator I need.

They have updated the power project board for the PICAXE-18M2 parts, but the data sheet and photo on this page are not updated. I am excited about the upgrades reflected in M2 parts, I'm back 'picking again. Here is a link to the new data sheet: [http://www.rev-ed.co.uk/docs/chi035a.pdf]
