**Replacement: **None. It's time for this obsolete item to step aside and make room in the catalog for newer, cooler stuff. This page is for reference only.
This is a heatsink designed specifically for the high-intensity Rebel LEDs we carry. The LEDs can get really toasty, and this heatsink is a great way to dissipate some of that damaging heat.
This component is part of a solderless LED holder which is designed for high intensity LEDs, like our Rebel Luxeon LEDs.
**Note: **The other components of the LED holder are not included with this product. In addition to this there is a mating lens carrier, plastic contact carrier and retention clip. We also have a 1.5mm connector housing which can be used with the plastic contact carrier.

So I happen to have a few of these, finally getting around to using them... looked up the data sheet and... it's not the same part :(
It's similar, as though the datasheet is referencing an updated part, but that just won't do. It's not really a big deal since it's been discontinued and all, I'll do my best with my calipers, but it sure would have been nice to be able to import drawing dimensions...
Hmmmmm... Next time around I'd make sure they match
Is this part still in production? Tyco reports it as obsolete. We'd like to use it on a new design so need to know if it will be around for a while or not...
It's not recommended for a new design.
The complete assy photo shows a hexagonal pcb/LED. Is the holder compatible with those LED parts in addition to the bare bones Luxeon LED chip ?
it would appear (i say this because I have not held one in person) that you can use this with the bare led and the plastic carrier and retention clip, or using the PCB version without the carrier and clip.
