SparkFun pays a visit to iD Tech (& it makes our own childhood summer camp lanyard-weaving look really bad)
We're just trying to have a little fun, Shane.
This is a great idea. We talk about open source a lot, but nailing down exactly what it means can get a little muddled. Shawn and I will add it to the queue!
We have a bunch of exciting new products coming up in the second half of the year and hilarious and informative demos to go with them. On weeks like this where we have a new kit debuting, we make these shorter videos to give you a basic understanding of the components and what you can do with them. In terms of hijinks, we've been trying to spread them out over the entire week. Maybe you missed Nick's great post on etching your own circuit boards or the electric shock torture chair.
Oh Crystal...
Nick addresses this, and a bunch of other concerns in the video around the 5:50 mark.
Twas but a glitch in the Matrix. We are back up now, Thanks!
We've gotten a lot of requests recently to revisit our Getting Started with Intel Edison series. We plan to bring that series back once we've finished the recap for this year's AVC.
Thanks for watching!
Please read my blog post from earlier this week on some of the reasoning behind the changes we've made to the video process: https://www.sparkfun.com/news/1822
